Editorial Policy
Valderrama HVAC is an independent directory and consumer guide for heating and cooling services in Texas. This page explains where our data comes from, how content is produced, and how we handle money and corrections.
Data sources
- Licenses: the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation public license search. Every listed company is re-verified before publication and on a scheduled refresh; the verification date appears on each company card.
- Ratings and review counts: Google. These are Google's data — we display them as plain text with attribution and never mark them up in structured data.
- Prices: ranges compiled from published price lists of Texas contractors, homeowner estimates, and our own quote requests. Cost tables show the review date, and Texas-specific numbers are used wherever they differ from national averages.
- Complaints: BBB data is being collected and will be added to the ranking score as documented in How we rank.
Content standards
- Cost and troubleshooting guides are written for Texas conditions (climate, licensing, housing stock), not copied from national templates.
- Every guide shows its publication or review date. Guides are reviewed when prices or regulations change.
- We don't publish fake urgency (“only 2 technicians left!”), invented statistics, or unsourced claims. Where we estimate, we say so.
Independence and money
Requesting quotes through the site is free. We may earn a referral fee from companies we connect you with — it never changes the price you pay, never influences ranking, and never buys a badge or a listing. Companies cannot pay for placement. Listings are never removed in exchange for payment either: a company leaves the directory only if it loses its license verification.
Corrections
Spot an error — a wrong phone number, an outdated license status, a price that no longer reflects the market? Tell us. Factual corrections verified against primary sources are applied in the next data refresh, and material corrections to guides are noted on the page.
